The 2014-15 athletic seasons began with the continuation of an unprecedented winning streak continuing. The boys volleyball team under head coach Dorian Hart continued to dominate their Peninsula District opponents by winning all 9 games that they faced them. The district winning streak improved to 37 consecutive wins over Peninsula opponents. The Varsity Field Hockey Team recorded their first conference tournament win by beating Oscar Smith 1-0 in the quarterfinal round. In the winter our Girls Varsity Basketball Team finished second in the conference tournament and advanced to the regional tournament. The Woodside Girls Tennis Team finished a perfect 10-0 against Peninsula District opponents in the spring for the first time in school history.

We are very proud of our athletic history here at Woodside which includes 15 District Championships, 17 District Tournament Championships, five Regional Championships, as well as a State Championships in Softball in 2001 and back-to-back State Championships in Boys Basketball in 2004 & 2005.
Nominate a former Woodside Athlete to the Woodside Athletic Hall of Fame. Read the nomination criteria and fill out a nomination form for eligible athletes and forward it to the Athletic Director.
Opening in 1996, Woodside High School is a member of the Virginia High School League, competes in the Eastern Region and the Peninsula District.
The mission of Woodside athletics is to promote participation and sportsmanship in a competitive interscholastic program and aid in the physical and emotional development of our student athletes. Every athlete is provided with opportunities and experiences to foster lifelong qualities such as teamwork and self-discipline. A student’s participation in athletics enhances their skill for living and learning by offering different learning experiences outside the classroom.The NNPS Athletic Handbook is an invaluable tool covering all aspects of athletics at Woodside and should answer most of your questions including an explanation of the NNPS 2.0 grade point policy.
In order to try out for a team all athletes must have a current physical submitted on the VHSL Physical Form. The cost is $20 CASH ONLY. The Physical Form MUST be signed by a parent or guardian before the physical can be conducted by the doctor. Your signature gives the doctor permission to conduct the Physical. NO SIGNATURE, NO PHYSICAL!!!
